Reviving Tradition: The Artistry Behind Snow Breweries' Jiang Xin Ying Zao

Unveiling the Craftsmanship and Innovation in Beer Packaging Design

The design inspiration for this project was drawn from the traditional Chinese window lattice, a symbol of the Chinese pursuit of a high-quality life. The designers saw the window as a luxury, built for ventilation and lighting, and decided to incorporate this concept into their design. The main part of the glass bottle features traditional Chinese window frames carved in relief, a technique known as "Bubujin". This technique represents a promising career and a bright future, making it a fitting choice for a product that aims to embody the spirit of ingenuity and perfection.

The design is not just visually appealing but also functional. The concave and convex surface of the glass bottle reduces the chance of a slippery drop-off, making it user-friendly. The middle part of the glass bottle features a compass of ancient China, a great invention that reminds consumers of the creative work of the brewery. This was achieved through hot stamping on glass, a technique that further enhances the uniqueness of the design.

Creating this design was not without its challenges. The technique required was time-consuming and painstaking, but it was necessary to showcase the graphic design effectively. Despite the challenges, the designers were able to strike a balance between showcasing the design and ensuring it was suitable for mass production.

The design was realized in Shenzhen, proofed in Shanghai, and produced in Beijing. The project started in July 2017 and was completed in September 2017. The design team, led by Tiger Pan, included Qian Chi, Dong Yan, Ping Yi, and Juanjuan Wu. Their collective effort resulted in a design that not only attracted consumers' attention but also raised cultural identity.

The Snow Breweries - Jiang Xin Ying Zao design was recognized for its world-class, exceptional, and highly innovative design, earning it the Platinum A' Packaging Design Award in 2018. This award is given to designs that showcase unmatched professionalism, genius, and contribute to societal wellbeing. It is a testament to the design's ability to advance the boundaries of art, science, design, and technology, exhibiting transcendent excellence and making the world a better place.
